Yongin EverLine (용인에버라인)

Seoul

Yongin EverLine is a fully automated driverless 18.1 km-long light rail / people mover line with 15 stations, connecting Everland, South Korea's most popular theme park, to the regional metro line in Yongin. The line goes through densely populated urban-suburban developments. The system is identical to the AirTrain line at JFK airport in New York city. It uses standard Bombardier Advanced Rapid Transit Y100 vehicles driven by Bombardier automatic train control technology.

The construction of the line started on 11.2005. The infrastructure was ready and testing commenced on 11.2009. The opening was delayed for several years due to technical and organizational issues. The line finally opened 26.04.2013.

Trains run every 6 minutes Monday — Saturday, and 9 minutes on Sundays and holidays. One-car trains are operated, while trains can be lengthened to two cars if necessary. The cars are 3.2 meters-wide, they are the widest trains in South Korea, with a carrying capacity of 226 people. The Yongin line is capable of operating on a 2-minute headway. The line is also known for high average operational speed at 39,2 km/h.
