Antwerpen, BN PCC Antwerpen (modernised) № 2100 Antwerpen — A fresh color scheme that was never retained
Antwerpsesteenweg
Some people at the then operator were not happy about the fact that 'their' company was going to merge with 'De Lijn' a few months later. Buses already received the new colours, but someone decided to design a new livery for the old operator (who was going to disappear) and to apply it. The tram never did any service and was shortly afterwards repainted in the new livery of 'De Lijn'.
Photo of collection, made by an employee of the tram company at the time (Van de Weyer) who has passed away in the meantime.

The interior also received new livery. This was removed almost immediately afterwards: this renovated tram was the first to receive the new livery of 'De Lijn'. In this livery, only test drives were made and no passenger has ever seen the interior.

The original driver's post of an Antwerp P.C.C. A large part of the space is occupied by the sale of different types of tickets: 'direct' (= single ride), 'transfer' (ride with 1 change) and a multi-ride ticket, where the driver had to stamp the first ride(s).
Typical for P.C.C.'s is that the pedals are the only means of operating the vehicle.

In 1970, the driver's compartment was still completely open... and the trams were absolutely inaccessible to the huge prams... which were virtually non-existent at the time.

Stelplaats Hoboken (Jan Van de Wouwerstraat)
The tram was only delivered three weeks earlier and is therefore still in its original condition, including a seat for a conductor: one-man operation was not yet in place at that time. The raised seat can be seen at the front next to the door.

Diksmuidelaan
As a result of the World Fair in Antwerp in 1930 and the expected increase in passengers, all seats were removed from a number of trams (also for the staff...) and only standing places were available. This is what was written on the tram (in both national languages at the time). To my knowledge unique: I cannot find any other passenger tram without seats. Of course, the trams (there were several) got their seats back after the exhibition.
